| I use “editorial” in the sense of a narrative, story telling style of photography. None of these images appeared in any newspaper, magazine, or other traditional news publication. I call them editorial because they tell a story, or could help to support one told in words. All of these, except for the second image, were shot in a photojournalistic mode – the fly-on-the-wall approach. No intervention, no set-up, no control by me. I just shot what I saw with the sole purpose of telling the story of what was unfolding. The second image was an illustration, totally set-up by me, for a book cover. Yet it too was created to convey a narrative. That is why I include it here. |
