Southpoint, Hawaii

Known in Hawaiian as Ka Le, this is a place of great mystery, where one encounters a natural world shaped by powerful forces.

The trades blow continually from the northeast. Trees are bent almost horizontal. The blue Pacific stretches out unbroken onto the southern horizon. Time seems to slow here, almost to a stop.
